Faithful to the end, Steven was one of many martyrs of the early church. Would could have been a very hard blow to the Christian faith, was actually a catylist that spurred on the church and inspired others to find out exactly what this faith was that people were willing to die for. 

In this picture you can see Steven, looking toward the sky as the Lord reveals himself in Steven's last last moments. For those who know their church history, also might notice another ray of hope in the picture. A man standing off to the left side, guarding the coats of those throwing rocks. Thought he stands approving of the execution at the time, this man by the name of Saul will one see this same light, change his name to Paul, and become one of the greatest evangelist of all time.
